Virtual Tour Internally and Externally of The Old School

Virtual Tour of The Old School Building and Garden

Have a look around Sir Isaac Newton's Old School!

The Old School is currently used as a library for The King's School pupils. Explore this amazing building with its wonderful beamed ceiling. At the far end of the building you will see a wooden staircase. This has been built to allow easy viewing of the window ledge with Newton's name carved into the sill. Today this is protected by a Perspex cover. Photographs of this engraving, together with many of his fellow students throughout the centuries, are available on this site on the Photograph section.

Navigate your way around the building's interior. The other virtual tour is of the garden outside The Old School. The garden is home to an apple tree, one which is a descendant of the apple tree which inspired Newton at his home in Woolsthorpe. The external tour also shows the Head Master's House which is a Grade II listed building and was built around the same time as The Old School.
